These letter-sized, college-ruled pads have: (a) nice heavy paper, (b) a really stiff back, and (c) heavy binding so that paper will not come off prematurely.
My only complaint is that the "micro-perforated" tear-outs don't always work, and once you get some bad tears, subsequent sheets get hung up and also tear badly. Probably I should just be more careful.
These are also surprisingly hard to find and priced really erratically --- some places are $10-$15 each (!?) when you include their shipping charges.
